Comdiam is the commercial outlet for the Scientific and Technical Research Centre for Diamonds - WTOCD (Wetenschappelijk en Technisch OnderzoeksCentrum voor Diamant), and is a subsidiary company of the HRD (the Antwerp Diamond High Council).
All these companies operate in the first place for the benefit of the Belgian diamond industry and trade. On the other hand it is in our strategy to promote Antwerp as the World Diamond Centre, not only for diamond itself, but also in products and developments for diamond manufacturing and examination.

The WTOCD is continuously searching for innovative and cost-saving methods and means of turning a rough stone into the most efficiently polished stone. They have focused their efforts on several areas of technology; these include mechanics, electronics, computer technology, laser development and vision systems. In addition, software packages have been produced to give the industry high quality tools to facilitate decision-making.

Comdiam commercialises the products from the successful developments and offers them to the diamond market. So we are the link between the research and the work floor or the office. Secondly we act as a supplier of other equipment and tools for anyone involved in the diamond business. Comdiam also offers an efficient service to the Belgian diamond industry.

Research & Development as well as production take place in Lier, near Antwerp. Our sales office is situated in the building of the HRD headquarters right in the centre of Antwerp. Here you can buy our products or you can just attend one of our many product demonstrations. Furthermore our products are exposed in the main trade shows all over the world.

Comdiam was created in 1980.
The first activities for Comdiam were installation-projects for dust-evaporating systems, followed by stroboscopes for hand-bruting machines.

With the release of the small hand-bruting machine and the automatic bruting stick, Comdiam became an important supplier of automatic machinery and tools for the Belgian diamond industry.

Nowadays Comdiam has a wide range of machines, tools and equipment for the entire diamond sector. Innovation, quality, user-friendliness, and service are still the key words in the company’s approach. A team of dedicated staff-members is responsible for the production, assembly, installation, training, sales, after-sales-service and the administration of all the products exposed in this catalogue.
