EOS
The quality-label for the girdle

EOS is a semi-automatic machine for bruting and girdling diamonds. This machine is developed to meet the growing demand for perfect girdles.

EOS is suitable for stones with a minimum weight of 0.2ct and a maximal measurement of 40mm diameter.

The diamond, which has to be cut, is taken between a cullet-pot and a table-pin. Pots and pins are available in different sizes, depending on the size of the stones.

To brute the stone, a diamond scaife is used instead of boart. The scaife moves in cooling-liquid to cool down the bruted stone. The liquid contains some silt, this helps the stone being bruted easily. On the left side of the control-panel the whole process is tended. The stone can be viewed under a specific angle. With the turning knob at the front the access to the stone can be manually adjusted. The centring of the diamond happens with a built-in measuring probe, herewith small and big movements can be generated.

The diameter is measured with a special pen, which glides to the stone when the measurement has started. The diameter indicates the actual diameter of the girdle. The construction of the machine and the perfectly equilibrated construction guarantee a vibration-free operation of the cutting machine. This is in favour for the benefit of the final product. Productivity, functionality and ergonomics where a few of the most important items designing EOS.

EOS is connected to EOS-view to get a visual presentation of the stone. On the screen you see a wire-frame where the model can be adjusted to the desired shape.

The wire-frame gives information on:
•  the centring of the stone
•  the right position of the girdle
•  the roundness
•  the position of the naturals

A second cable sends data to the computer for a visual presentation of the status of the bruting process. It also makes it possible to display the actual diameter of the stone on the screen (EOSControl).

Advantages

•  perfect roundness of the girdle
•  straight girdle
•  the final diameter of the stone can be optimised
•  no risk on beard
•  no outbreak of facets due to recutting
•  equilibrating stones
•  eliminate cleavages and wholes without any outbreak
•  cutting risk stones
•  a minimum of corrections during polishing

The automatic steering, the use of high technology and the ergonomic control will allow you to:
•  reach a rather high productivity; 1 person can operate more machines
•  minimise the training period
• avoid damage of the stone while processing
