Balancer
To become a perfect equilibrated scaife

When a new scaife is mounted on a polishing mill, it might happen that the combination of the bench, the motor and the scaife are not stable and slight vibrations occurs. To take away this vibrations, the HRD-Research department (WTOCD) developed a balancer.  

This small tool is connected to a multimeter, which displays the value of the eventual non-balance. The best way to measure the non-balance, is by placing the balancer on the motor of the polishing mill. The place of the balancer (bench, motor, top of the table…) influences the measured value.
When the non-balance (value read above 0.35) is too large, the scaife must be equilibrated. The normal non-balance can be eliminated by placing counterweights (small 0.01 and large 0.03 magnets) in the knob of the scaife. This counterweight will compensate the non-balance.

If the measured value comes in the neighbourhood of the stagnated value the unit is equilibrated.
